Origin and history
The church Saint-Félix de Guignonville is a French religious building dedicated to Saint Félix, located in the Loiret department, on the territory of the former commune of Guignonville, now attached to Greneville-en-Beauce. Built in the first quarter of the 13th century, it is distinguished by its bell tower, typical of the rural churches of Île-de-France of that time. This bell tower, inscribed in historical monuments since October 26, 1925, consists of a single floor of belfry surmounting bare walls, crowned by a double slope attic between two gables.
The church is located in the natural region of the Beauce, at about 125 meters above sea level, and historically depended on the ecclesiastical province of Tours and the diocese of Orleans. It is part of the parish grouping of Aschères-le-Marche, Bazoches-les-Gallerandes and Outarville. Accessible from the departmental road 834, it is 10.5 km west of Pithiviers, in the canton and the district of the same name.
The bell tower of the Saint-Félix church illustrates an architectural model characteristic of the small rural churches of the early 13th century in Île-de-France. Its sober structure, with a belfry floor and a double slope roof, reflects the construction techniques of the era. Although only this part is protected as historical monuments, the building remains an important testimony to the Beauce's religious and architectural heritage.
Administratively, the church belongs to the commune of Greneville-en-Beauce, whose Insee code is 45160, in the region Centre-Val de Loire. It is located in Place Saint-Félix, and its location is considered satisfactory according to available data. The building is owned by the municipality and its current state (opening, visits) is not specified in the sources consulted.
