Origin and history

The church of Saint-Germain-d Its history is part of a marked parish context: it was given to the Priory of Saint Thomas d'Épernon by Amaury I of Montfort, remaining under his dependence until the Revolution. The building preserves traces of its architectural evolution, with a 16th century structure and a southern vessel added to the 17th century, reflecting the successive adaptations of the building.

The French Revolution marked a violent turning point for the church: its bell was melted, and the burials of the lords of Voisin, buried in the choir, were desecrated to extract lead. Despite these destructions, the building survived and was listed as a historic monument on 6 March 1950, recognizing its heritage value. The funerary liter of the Moufle de Georville, local lords, painted in the 18th century, still bears witness to its connection to the regional aristocracy.

Subsequent restorations have shaped its current aspect. In 1835, Philibert Caziot reworked the plastered frame and tile, while Dominique Bion remained the bell tower in 1890. The church cemetery was abolished in 1880, marking a break in its traditional use. Today attached to the parish of Saint-Germain-d'Auxerre, it embodies both a medieval heritage and the transformations of a place of worship throughout the centuries.
