Origin and history

The Saint-Laurent church of Saint-Rieul is a monument located in the municipality of the same name in Brittany. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or the architectural or historical details associated with it. In this region, parish churches like Saint-Rieul traditionally played a central role in community life.

They served as a place of worship, assembly and identity marker for the inhabitants, often around local agricultural and craft activities.
