Origin and history

The church Saint-Martin de Lancé, located in the village of the same name in the region Centre-Val de Loire, dates from the 12th century. This religious monument, typical of Romanesque architecture, is distinguished by structural elements such as its bedside and apse, protected since 1927. Architectural details, such as columns and pyramidal foothills, reflect medieval construction techniques.

Classified as a Historical Monument, the Church of Saint Martin saw its apse and choir inscribed in the inventory by order of 12 May 1927. The peculiarity of its blind arch, where the compartments are separated by columns resting on foothills with taluté tops, bears witness to the artisanal know-how of the 12th century. Today, the building belongs to the municipality of Lancé and remains a significant remnant of the local heritage.

The location of the church at 12 Rue Saint-Martin is documented in the Mérimée and Monumentum bases. Although the practical information on his visit or current use is limited, his status as a communal property and his historical inscription make him a place of interest in the study of Romanesque art in Loir-et-Cher. The accuracy of its geographic location is assessed as satisfactory, facilitating its identification in the regional heritage landscape.
