Origin and history
The church of Saint-Martin de Misy-sur-Yonne is a religious building located in the municipality of the same name, in Seine-et-Marne (77), in the Île-de-France region. This monument, whose location is estimated as fair (level 5/10), has been included in the inventory of Historic Monuments since 1926. Today it belongs to the municipality and constitutes a local architectural heritage.
Parish churches like Saint-Martin played a central role in the life of French villages, especially in Île-de-France. They served as a place of worship, community gathering and identity marker for the inhabitants.
