Origin and history
The church of Saint-Nicolas-de-Myre de Jausiers is a Baroque-style Catholic religious building characteristic of the Counter-Reform. Built around 1670, it is distinguished by a more classical and less theatrical style than the Baroque churches of Italy, Austria or Spain. It is located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, in the commune of Jausiers, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
The church is classified as historical monuments by decree of 11 January 1921. It is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myre, patron saint of travelers and children, and was officially consecrated in 1686.
