Origin and history
The church of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul de Noailles, classified as a Historical Monument, initially depended on the chapter of Albi. It consists of a single nave of three spans, extended by a polygonal sanctuary and five side chapels. Its architecture combines late Gothic elements, such as the arches with liernes and thirdons, and 19th century restorations.
The entrance porch, topped by a three-storey square bell tower, opens to the west by a basket handle door decorated with intertwined mouldings. Inside, the vaults of the nave, restored in 1845, contrast with those of the sanctuary, divided into eighteen compartments decorated with carved keys. The murals, dated 1756, represent foliage and rinceaux, with alternate colouring of the harpsichords.
The building, registered by order of 9 December 1970, belongs to the commune of Noailles. Its state of conservation and decorative elements, such as vaults and paintings, bear witness to architectural and artistic developments between the 16th and 19th centuries. Approximate location and limited mapping accuracy (level 5/10) suggest a need for verification for an optimal visit.
