Origin and history

The church Saint-Pierre de Guainville, located in the Eure-et-Loir department in the Centre-Val de Loire region, is a religious building dating from the 15th century. This monument, inscribed in the Historical Monuments by decree of August 18, 2021, is a typical example of the sacred architecture of this period. Its protection concerns the entire building, located on Parcel No.39, section AC, and it now belongs to the commune of Guainville.

In the 15th century, parish churches like Saint Peter played a central role in the life of rural communities. They served not only as a place of worship, but also as a gathering point for social and civic events. In a region such as the Centre-Val de Loire, marked by strong agricultural and artisanal activity, these buildings often reflected local prosperity and architectural influences of the time, sometimes mixing late Gothic elements with regional traditions.
