Origin and history

Sainte-Madeleine de La Madeleine-sur-Loing is a religious monument located in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region. This place of worship, whose architecture reflects local history, was inscribed under the title of Historical Monuments by ministerial decree on 28 April 1926. Today, it remains a central element of the communal heritage, managed by the municipality.

In an area marked by a long agricultural and artisanal tradition, churches like Sainte-Madeleine played a major social and spiritual role. They served as a gathering point for the inhabitants, welcoming religious ceremonies, local festivals and sometimes even community meetings. Their preservation is evidence of people's attachment to their history and cultural identity.
