Origin and history
The Hermitage property, located at Mont-Saint-Michel in the municipality of the same name, is a listed historical monument. This site, whose exact address is 5017 Les Venelles, is an integral part of Normandy's rich heritage. Although little detailed information was available on its specific history, its classification by decree of 26 August 1937 demonstrated its architectural or cultural importance for the region.
Mont-Saint-Michel, the emblematic place of Normandy, has always been a pole of tourist, religious and historical attraction. Properties such as Hermitage, often linked to reception or monastic life, reflect the medieval social and economic organization of the region. These buildings, integrated into a landscape marked by the abbey and bay, played a role in local life, whether for accommodation, spirituality or surrounding agriculture.
