Origin and history
The industrial complex of Hautefond is a historic site located in the commune of Hautefond, in Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. This monument, dated from the second half of the 19th century, consists mainly of a brick oven and a drying hangar, reflecting local industrial activity related to the production of building materials. These facilities were essential to meet the growing needs for bricks, particularly in the context of the urbanization and architectural transformations of the era.
The site was listed as historic monuments on June 18, 1992, recognizing its heritage value. This protection applies specifically to the brick kiln and the Mazuncle drying hangar, identified under cadastral reference B 3. The inscription preserves these industrial remains, which illustrate the techniques and know-how of brick production in the 19th century. The site is located at approximately 5062 Mazoncle, 71600 Hautefond, according to the GPS coordinates available.
