Façade with its wrought iron porch and ramp, and the roof, as well as the façade element that unites this building at Notre-Dame-de-Liesse church: inscription by decree of 21 July 1943

Origin and history

The former town hall of Annecy, located in the heart of the city, is an iconic 18th century building. Ranked as a Historic Monument, it features a facade decorated with a perron and a wrought iron ramp, as well as a remarkable roof. These elements, protected by decree of 21 July 1943, bear witness to the civil architecture of the period and its harmonious integration with the adjacent Church of Notre-Dame-de-Liesse.

The location of the building at 10 Place Notre-Dame is considered satisfactory (note 7/10), although GPS coordinates suggest an approximate address. Owned by the municipality of Annecy, this building, whose original function was administrative, could now accommodate visits, room rentals or other public uses, although this information is not specified in the available sources.

Historical data comes mainly from the Merimée database and Monumentum, supplemented by internal information. The Insee code of the commune (74010) confirms its anchoring in Haute-Savoie, in the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. No mention is made of sponsors, architects or specific events related to its construction or past use, apart from its heritage protection in 1943.
