Origin and history
The faisanderie d'Apremont, located in Vineuil-Saint-Firmin, Oise, Hautes-de-France, is a building built in the 2nd quarter of the 19th century. This monument is part of the heritage complex of the Chantilly estate, whose park also extends over the neighbouring communes of Avrilly-Saint-Léonard and Vineuil-Saint-Firmin. Its architecture and location reflect the aristocratic practices of cynegetic and landscape management of the period, typical of the major forest estates of northern France.
Ranked among the Historical Monuments, pheasantry has enjoyed special protection since a decree of 1 February 1988, covering its facades, roofs, as well as the enclosure wall. This ranking underscores its close link with Chantilly's estate, itself marked by a centuries-old history linked to the French nobility. The protected elements (central building, pavilions, wall) illustrate a desire to preserve the architectural and functional integrity of the site.
The location of the pheasantry, at 6 Route d'Apremont, is documented with satisfactory accuracy (note 7/10), although the sources do not detail its current accessibility (visits, events). Its association with the Chantilly estate, one of the major heritage ensembles of the Hauts-de-France, makes it a witness to hunting practices and the management of natural spaces under the Ancien Régime and in the 19th century.
