Origin and history
The Lascroux farm, located in Tanus in Tarn (Occitanie), is a remarkable rural complex dating from the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It illustrates the typical architecture of the Segala Tarnais, with a closed courtyard, local construction techniques and a preserved spatial organization. Mentioned in 1648, it retained its ancient dispositions, offering an intact testimony of the farms in that area.
Classified as a Historic Monument in 2007, the farm is distinguished by its exceptional state of conservation. Its buildings, interior fittings and use of local materials reflect the agricultural and social practices of the Segala between the 16th and 18th centuries. The ensemble, fully protected, embodies a rare rural heritage, representative of an architectural corpus identified in this territory.
The location of the farm, although documented (4 Chemin de Lacroux, Tanus), remains approximate according to available sources.
