Origin and history

La Ferme de la Fontaine Haute is an emblematic agricultural building located in the commune of Goujounac, in the Lot department, in the Occitanie region. This monument, whose origins date back to the seventeenth century, illustrates the traditional wine architecture of the Bouriane, a region marked by a long agricultural history. Its buildings, partially rebuilt in the 19th century, preserved their original dispositions, offering a rare testimony of the grouped farms of that time.

Classified as historical monuments on 22 January 2004, the farm is distinguished by its coherent set, including houses and outbuildings. It embodies the spatial and functional organisation of the Bouriane wineries, where wine production played a central economic role. Sources, such as Colette Chantraine's work, highlight its heritage importance in the local rural landscape.

The current buildings reflect an architectural evolution, with traces of constructions as early as the 15th century, although the most visible elements date back to the 19th century. The farm, still located at 5017 F La Fontaine in Goujounac, remains an example studied to understand the historical agricultural and wine practices of the region. Its inscription as a historic monument protects its integrity, including its annexes and its built environment.
