Origin and history

La Ferme des Ramis de Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Taille is a historic monument located in the commune of Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Taille in the Seine-Maritime region of Normandy. This site, whose protected features include agricultural buildings, a house, a dovecote and a bread oven, reflects the typical organization of a Norman rural farm. The facades, roofs and some interiors, such as the southeast chamber and the adjoining cabinet, have been preserved for their heritage value, reflecting the construction techniques and way of life of past times.

Classified by ministerial decree on 24 December 1980, this farm illustrates the importance of agricultural structures in the Norman economy and society. Buildings, such as stables, barn, henhouse and cartretery, recall daily activities related to agriculture and livestock. The dovecote, which is often a symbol of social status, and the bread oven, which is essential for food autonomy, complement this representative set of rural heritage. The location, although specified by GPS coordinates, remains approximate, with an address indicated as '5093 Les Rames' in the Merimée base.

The listing in the inventory of Historic Monuments specifically concerns facades, roofs and certain interior decorations, as well as fence walls and entrance gates. These protections are intended to preserve the architectural authenticity of the site, while excluding subsequent additions such as those of the 19th century. La Ferme des Ramis, although little documented on its exact origins or historical owners, offers a material testimony of agricultural practices and rural habitat in Normandy, a region marked by a strong peasant tradition and a diversified built heritage.
