Facades and roofs; three large central chimneys (or killed) with their adjoining oven; Central stove and south-west side stove with their panelling, and upstairs, small panelled room with integrated drawers (Cd. AC 162, 164): inscription by order of 20 November 1986

Origin and history

The farm of Grand'Combe-Châteleu, dated from the 1st quarter of the 18th century, is an example of rural architecture of this period. It is distinguished by its facades and roofs, as well as by its three large central chimneys (called "killed") accompanied by their adjoining oven. These elements, typical of comtoise farms, reflect the construction techniques and lifestyles of the era, where central fire played an essential role in daily life and food conservation.

Classified as a Historical Monument by order of 20 November 1986, this farm also protects a central stove and a south-west side stove, both with panelling, as well as a small panelled room with integrated drawers on the floor. These interior details illustrate the care taken in the development of living and working spaces, characteristic of the wealthy peasant houses of Burgundy-Franche-Comté. The location of the farm, at the 9 Les Cordiers, confirms its anchoring in a territory marked by agriculture and crafts.

The accuracy of its location is estimated to be "fair" (note 5/10), suggesting that its exact location may require additional verification. Available data from the Merimée database and Monumentum highlight its heritage importance without providing information on its current accessibility (visits, rentals, or accommodation).
