Origin and history
La Ferme du Cabaret de Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt is a monument located in the eponymous commune of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. From the mid-18th century, this building illustrates the rural architecture of this period, marked by functional constructions related to local agricultural activities. The available sources do not specify its exact use or its possible owners, but its name evokes a possible vocation of reception or commerce in connection with the typical inn farms of the region.
In the 18th century, Provence was an intensive agricultural land, especially for the cultivation of vines, olive trees and cereals. Farms played a central role in the local economy, serving as both a place of production, storage and sometimes a stage for travellers. The Cabaret Farm probably fits into this context, reflecting the social and economic practices of the time, although its specific history remains poorly documented.
