Origin and history

The Mognéville Farm, located in the Meuse department (55), is a rural building built mainly in the seventeenth century. It illustrates the typical agricultural architecture of Lorraine of this time, with structural elements characteristic of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Although its earlier façade was modified in the 19th century (first-level survey), its original structure remains partially preserved, reflecting construction techniques and materials used in modern times.

The later façade of the farm was completely rebuilt in the 19th century, reflecting functional or aesthetic adaptations after its original period. Classified Historic Monument by order of 9 September 1992, this farm is part of the protected heritage of the Grand East region. Its inclusion in the inventory underlines its importance as an example of rural Lorrain habitat, marked by minor but significant transformations in the following centuries.

Located at 15 rue Robert-Rouy in Mognéville, the farm is referenced in the Mérimée base under the code Insee 55340, attached to the Bar-le-Duc district. Although the sources do not specify its current use (visit, rental, etc.), its status as a monument makes it a site of heritage interest for the commune and the region. The accuracy of its location is assessed as "passable" (note 5/10), indicating an approximate geographical identification but sufficient for historical research.
