Facades and roofs (Case B 247): inscription by order of 6 December 1984
Origin and history
The Rudel Farm is a historical monument located in the commune of Sainte-Eulalie, in Ardèche. This building, representative of local rural architecture, was listed as historical monuments by ministerial decree in 1984. The protected elements specifically include facades and roofs, as indicated in the archives of the Merimée base.
Saint-Eulalie, like many ardèche communes, has long been marked by an agricultural economy and a social organization centred around family farms. Traditional farms, such as the Rudel Farm, played a central role in community life, serving both as a place of production, housing and sometimes as a gathering point for collective activities. Their preservation demonstrates the importance of rural built heritage in regional history.
The precise location of the farm, at 5038 Rudel, is documented in the official bases, although geographical accuracy is assessed as satisfactory a priori (level 6/10). No additional information is available on its current use, such as a possible public opening or conversion to guest rooms.
