Origin and history

The fortified barn of Marval is a building located in the commune of the same name, in Haute-Vienne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Dating from the pivotal period between the 16th and 17th centuries, this monument illustrates the defensive architecture applied to agricultural buildings, typical of rural areas exposed to conflicts or looting during this period.
