Origin and history

The Church of the Assumption of Fouvent-le-Haut is a Catholic religious building located in the commune of Fouvent-Saint-Andoche, Haute-Saône. Built during the 3rd quarter of the 18th century, it embodies the Christian architecture of this period in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. Its designation as historic monuments in 1980 underscores its heritage importance and its role in local history.

The location of the church, in the heart of the village of Fouvent-Saint-Andoche, reflects its anchor in community life. At the time of its construction, parish churches served as places of worship, but also as a gathering point for the inhabitants, marking the social and religious rhythms.
