The façade and roof and back 10, rue des Lauriers (Box F 633): inscription by order of 17 April 1952

Origin and history

The building located 13 Place du Parlement in Bordeaux, formerly Place du Marché Royal, is part of a homogeneous architectural complex of the 18th century. Dating from 1754, its facade features a commercial ground floor, two noble floors and an attic, all crowned by a balustrade cornice. The decorative elements include mascarons and shells carved on the keys to you, while wrought iron balconies adorn all windows. The structure, made of cut stone, reflects the stylistic unit of the square, conceived as an irregular quadrilateral.

The protection of the monument relates specifically to the façade, the roof and the return to Rue des Lauriers, listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments by order of 17 April 1952. The exact address referenced in the Merimée base is 13 Place du Parlement and 10 Rue des Lauriers, in the Gironde department (code Insee 33063). Although the GPS location is approximate (precision noted 5/10), the building remains a remarkable testimony of Bordeaux urbanism of the Enlightenment century, combining commercial and residential functions.

No information is available on the current use of the building (visits, rentals, etc.) or on any owners or architects associated with its construction. Sources are limited to Monumentum data and the administrative references of the Merimée database, without further details on its social history or historical occupants.
