Origin and history

The tumulus group of the Bronze of La Feuillé is a funerary monument located in the municipality of the same name in Brittany. These tumulus, characteristic of Bronze age, are collective or individual burials, often associated with rites and beliefs related to death and beyond. Their presence attests to an ancient human occupation in this area, although the precise details of their construction and use remain partially unknown in the absence of written sources.

By the Bronze Age, Brittany was populated by agro-pastoral communities organized into small groups. The tumulus served not only as burial sites, but also as territorial and symbolic markers, reflecting the importance attached to ancestors and collective memory. These funerary monuments were often implanted in landscapes chosen for their visibility, strengthening their role in the social and spiritual organization of the people of the time.
