Origin and history

The Calmont Hall is an emblematic monument located in Calmont-de-Plancatge, in the department of Aveyron, Occitanie region. Dating from the 16th century, this building is distinguished by its square plan and its twelve stone pillars supporting a robust structure. It embodies the civil architecture typical of medieval and renaissant halls, often used as market places and community gatherings.

Ranked under the title of historical monuments by order of 2 December 1937, the hall of Calmont is today the property of the commune. This classification reflects its heritage importance and its preservation as a representative element of the local architectural heritage. Although the sources do not specify its current use (visits, rentals, etc.), its state of conservation and central location make it a point of interest for regional history.
