Origin and history

The halls of Scorbé-Clairvaux, located in the department of Vienna in New Aquitaine, date from the 18th century. This monument, inscribed in the Historical Monuments by decree of 7 August 1967, bears witness to the utilitarian architecture of this time, dedicated to trade and community life. Their location, at the heart of the commune, reflects their central role in the social and economic organisation of the village.

In the 18th century, the halls were an essential place for inhabitants of rural villages such as Scorbé-Clairvaux.
