Origin and history
Filippi-Luigi-Saladini House, listed as a Historic Monument, is a mansion located in Ville-di-Paraso, Corsica. Built in the 17th and 19th centuries, it embodies the architecture and lifestyle of the notable families of the period. The building, enlarged by the addition of an adjacent house, comprises about 60 premises with various functions, reflecting its role both residential and agricultural.
The property retains a large part of its original furniture and agricultural equipment, offering an exceptional testimony of subsistence practices and the domestic organization of prominent Corsicans. The whole, fully protected by decree of 6 April 2016, illustrates the integration between habitat and farm, typical of the large rural houses of the island.
The exact address, according to the Merimée base, is located in the municipality of Ville-di-Paraso (code Insee 2B352), in Haute-Corse. Although geographical accuracy is considered poor (level 5/10), the site remains a remarkable example of Corsican built heritage, combining seigneurial residence and productive activities.
