Origin and history

The house of Boulogne-Billancourt, built between 1928 and 1930, is a private hotel ordered by the Dujarric family of the River. The architect Louis Faure-Dujarric, cousin of the sponsor, designed the building on a reinforced concrete frame, coated with stone. The hotel was designed for Madame Dujarric de la Rivière, a musician and composer, and included a majestic organ room, lit by a bay window and decorated with a flat grille signed by Raymond Subes, an art ironmaker. The organ, by Jean Huré, was dismantled in 1986 after the sale of the building.

The project also associated Gustave Lyon for the technical realization of the organ hall, located on the first and second floors. The facades, protected since 1975, have undergone changes over time. The sponsor, professor of biology and member of the Institut Pasteur, thus marked the history of this place by its dual scientific and artistic heritage, reflected in architecture and interior design.

Classified as a Historical Monument, this house illustrates the alliance between constructive modernity (armed concrete) and aesthetic tradition (stone walls) in the inter-war period. Its registration in 1975 specifically concerns facades, blankets and the organ hall, testifying to its heritage value.
