The façade: inscription by decree of 10 December 1925
Origin and history
The house located in Pont-à-Mousson, in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle in the Grand Est region, is a historic monument whose facade was inscribed by ministerial decree. This building, located at 22 Place Duroc, represents an example of the city's architectural heritage, although details of its construction or precise history remain limited in the available sources. Pont-à-Mousson, the city of Lorraine which is now integrated in the Grand Est, has had a history marked by its urban and industrial development, particularly around metallurgy and the arts.
The bourgeois or notable houses, like this one, often reflect the economic and social development of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in this region. Their preservation allows us to understand the evolution of architectural styles and local lifestyles, even if the archives specific to this monument are little detailed.
