Origin and history

Hotel Brulart is a private hotel located at 25 rue des Ecouffes in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. Built in the 17th century, it embodies the civil architecture of this period, marked by the emergence of urban residences for the aristocracy and the rising bourgeoisie. The building is distinguished by its street façades and roofs, typical of the early classical style, as well as by a back building dating from the 18th century, integrated into the whole.

The Brulart Hotel was classified as a Historical Monument and was partially protected by order of 19 October 1965. This decree specifically concerns the façade on street and its roof side, as well as the facade and roof of the 18th century building located at the bottom of the courtyard, including the cage and staircase ramp. These protected elements testify to the architectural evolution of the site, mixing two centuries of construction.

The hotel's location in the historic Marais district reflects its anchoring in an urban fabric rich in heritage. The Rue des Ecouffes, mentioned in the Middle Ages, was in modern times a popular place of residence, close to the centres of power and commerce. Today, the Brulart Hotel remains a preserved example of Parisian aristocratic habitat, although its access to the public or current uses are not specified in the available sources.
