Origin and history

The Albertas Hotel, located in Apt, Vaucluse, is a private hotel built during the second half of the 17th century. This monument illustrates Provencal Baroque architecture, with interiors decorated with gypsums and ceilings painted with golden frescoes. Ranked as a historical monument since 1991, it now belongs to the Sabatier family, which undertook renovations awarded in the 2000s by the Sothebys Foundation.

The building, also known as the Anne d'Austria hotel although this historic link is not documented in the sources, is distinguished by its sumptuous interior decor. The rooms retain baroque stylistic elements, typical of the aristocratic residences of the time. Its official address, 10 Place du Septier, and its ranking among historical monuments make it a remarkable heritage of the city of Apt.

The restoration work carried out in the 21st century has preserved the hotel's original features, while enhancing its contemporary use. Although the sources do not specify its current accessibility (visits, rentals), its protected status and its location in the city centre make it a point of interest for Provencal architectural heritage.
