Origin and history
The Arlempdes hotel is a private hotel located in Châteauneuf-du-Rhône, in the Drôme department. Built in the 16th century, it is a typical example of the civil architecture of this period in the region. Its style and decorative elements reflect the artistic and social influences of the Renaissance in Provence.
The building was classified and listed as historic monuments on 8 September 1988. This protection includes its southern façade, its corresponding roof, as well as interior elements such as the central staircase and five chimneys. These measures are aimed at preserving a remarkable architectural heritage, a witness to local history.
The Arlempdes hotel is today a private property, partly managed by an association. Although its access to the public is not clearly specified, its location in the city centre (11 Rue du Portail) and its status as a historic monument make it a point of interest for those passionate about architecture and regional history.
