Origin and history

The Hotel d'Espinoy is an iconic mansion located on Place des Vosges, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. This monument is one of the historical buildings that border this mythical square, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its architecture reflects the classical style of the early 17th century, typical of Parisian private hotels of that time.

The building was classified as historic monuments in 1984, along with the adjacent Queen's Pavilion. This official recognition underscores its heritage and architectural importance. The hotel in Espinoy is distinguished by its privileged location, between the Queen's Pavilion and the Tresmes Hotel, on the north side of the square.

Place des Vosges, former Place Royale, is a place full of history, surrounded by private hotels built during the reign of Henri IV. These aristocratic residences bear witness to the ambitious urban planning of the time, marked by a search for harmony and symmetry. The hotel of Espinoy is part of this prestigious setting, illustrating the fascist of the Parisian nobility in the seventeenth century.
