Origin and history

The Hotel de Castagnier d'Auriac, located in Toulouse, is an aristocratic residence built in the middle of the eighteenth century. It consists of a two-storey central house body, framed by two wings to the north and south. The courtyard, privileged over the garden, reinforces the solemnity of the architectural ensemble. Inside, the hotel has a neo-classical decor added to the 19th century, marking a stylistic evolution after its initial construction.

Access to the floors is provided by two stairs: a monumental staircase and a more modest second, located at the junction of the wings and the central building. These elements, as well as facades and roofs, were protected by a registration order in 2005, highlighting their heritage value. The exact address, 19 rue Ninau, and its Insee code (31555) confirm its anchoring in the Saint-Étienne district of Toulouse, Occitanie.

Although the sources do not specify its current usage, the hotel illustrates the eighteenth century Toulouse civil architecture, combining classical rigour and subsequent adaptations. Its state of conservation and its location, noted as "a priori satisfactory" (level 7/10), make it a remarkable testimony of the regional urban heritage.
