Origin and history

The Hôtel de Girard is an emblematic monument located in the village of Lourmarin, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Dating from the seventeenth century, it illustrates the civil architectural style of this period, marked by local influences and construction techniques specific to modern times. In the seventeenth century, Provence was a dynamic region, marked by a rural and artisanal economy.

Private hotels, such as Girard, often served as residences for wealthy families or local notables, reflecting their social status and role in the community.
