Origin and history

Hotel de Lamissart is a private hotel located at 130 rue Royale in Lille, in the Nord department, in the Hauts-de-France region. Built in 1784, it is representative of the aristocratic architecture of the end of the Old Regime. Its monumental porch, inner courtyard and triangular pediment adorned with an armorial medallion by the Boselli-Scrive make it a remarkable example of the classic Lille style.

The building was commanded by Pierre Joseph Du Chambge, Baron of Elbecq and Marshal of the King's armies. It illustrates the prestige of the region's military and noble elites on the eve of the French Revolution. The hotel has been listed as historic monuments since 1 March 1978, protecting its iconic facades, roofs and architectural elements.

The hotel's architecture is distinguished by its three levels, its baluster balcony, and its wings reserved for the commons. The front door, framed with canned columns, and the seven windows on the second level highlight its elegance. Today, the building belongs to a private company and retains its historical character despite its contemporary use.
