Origin and history
The Hotel de Vibraye is an iconic 18th-century building, located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, at the corner of the Rue du Roi-de-Sicile and Vieille-du-Temple. Ranked a Historic Monument, it is distinguished by its typical architecture of Parisian mansions of the period, with protected facades and a wrought iron staircase.
In the 19th century, a horse slaughter, among the first in Paris, settled near the hotel. Its façade, made around 1946 by the Mosaïst H. Frezza, is decorated with a mosaic with a dominant red representing a horse, with the inscription "Buying horses". Today, this place houses a women's clothing store.
The protected elements of the hotel include the facades on streets, courtyard and old garden, as well as the roofs and staircase with its wrought iron ramp. These protections were formalized by a registration order dated 28 April 1964, highlighting the heritage value of the building.
