Origin and history

Aramon City Hall is a former civil building that housed the city's municipal institutions. Ranked as historical monuments in 1907, it bears witness to the Renaissance architecture of the region. After the abandonment of the old town hall, the municipality acquired this house to install the town hall, thus marking its importance in local life.

The building, whose facades have been protected since 1907, is located Church Square in Aramon, Gard department. Owned by the municipality, it embodies the architectural and administrative heritage of this Occitan city. Its ranking reflects its historical value and its central role in municipal organization since its acquisition.

In Occitanie, buildings like this often served as a place of power and assembly for the inhabitants. Renaissance houses, such as Aramon City Hall, were usually built for wealthy families before being reassigned to public use. Their preservation makes it possible today to understand the urban and social evolution of the small French communes.
