Origin and history
The town hall of Raon-l This building, located in the Vosges department, reflects the administrative and symbolic importance of the city in modern times. Its architecture, signed by the architect Anselme Pigage, is part of the Lorrain civil heritage of the first half of the eighteenth century.
The city hall houses an honorary hall decorated with eleven paintings, six of which illustrate the flotation of wood, a major economic activity of the region. This iconography shows the close link between the monument and local traditions, including logging and its transport by wood trains. The building, a communal property, was registered for historical monuments by order of 19 December 1986.
