Origin and history
The Hotel des Trois Anges, located in Pierre-Buffière, is a 16th century monument dating back to an existing house at that time. The building, structured around a main body and two wings in return for square, preserves architectural elements typical of the Renaissance, as a first floor in torchi overlooking a stone ground floor. The windows, initially with sills, were modernized in the 18th century, while an open gallery adorns the east wing upstairs.
The relay hosted a notable event in 1814 when Pope Pius VII stopped there when he returned to Rome. The interior, accessible by a paved entrance, leads to a ramp staircase of the seventeenth century and to rooms with 18th century woodwork. The stables, located on the ground floor, as well as the double staircase and facades, have been protected since a 1981 order.
The facade on street illustrates a 16th century construction, with a balance between noble (stone) and traditional (torchis) materials. The monument, although partially transformed, bears witness to the evolution of uses, moving from relays to a potential place of visit or accommodation, while keeping traces of its past, such as the old windows or the original spatial organization.
