Origin and history
Hotel Réal des Perrières is a private hotel located in Machecoul-Saint-Même, in the Loire-Atlantique department. Built in the first half of the 18th century, it is a typical example of the civil architecture of this period in the Pays de la Loire region. Its designation as historic monuments in 1992 reflects its historic importance, particularly for its facades, roofs and garden.
The hotel is located at 17 rue Alexandre-Riou, in a commune marked by a rich local history. At the time of its construction, the region was influenced by the economic and social dynamics of the Loire-Atlantique, particularly related to maritime trade and agriculture. Private hotels of this period often served as residences for bourgeois or aristocratic families, reflecting their social status and economic power.
The protected elements of the hotel include the facades and roofs of the house, the communes and pavilions of the courtyard of honour, as well as the garden. These architectural and landscape features illustrate the style and construction practices of the time, while emphasizing the importance attached to aesthetics and symmetry in prestigious homes.
