Origin and history

Videau House, listed as a Historic Monument, is a 13th-century building located in Mennetou-sur-Cher, Loir-et-Cher. It is distinguished by its gable decorated with two twin windows, whose arches rest on finely worked columns. These bays, typical of medieval architecture, are surmounted by capitals carved with plant motifs, testifying to the artisanal know-how of the period.

The building underwent major alterations in the 19th century, partially altering its original structure. Despite these transformations, the gable and its decorative elements of the thirteenth century were preserved, leading to their inscription by ministerial decree on 11 March 1935. The house is located near the presbytery, in the heart of the historic village, and its approximate address corresponds to the 23 Grande Rue.

Available sources, including the Merimée and Monumentum base, highlight its heritage interest, although the accuracy of its location is considered poor (level 5/10). No information is provided on its current accessibility, whether it be visits, services or contemporary uses such as a rental or a guest room.
