Origin and history

The house of 60 quai Sainte-Catherine, located in Honfleur, Calvados, is an emblematic building dating from the 16th century. This monument, whose historic address was once number 41 of the same dock, illustrates the civil architecture of the Renaissance in Normandy. Its facades and roofs, characteristic of this period, were protected for their heritage value.

The property was officially recognized as a Historic Monument on 6 March 1933, when its exterior elements (facades and roofs) were registered by decree. This ranking reflects the cultural and architectural importance of this building in the urban landscape of Honfleur, a port city marked by its maritime and commercial history.

Although sources mention its protected status and precise location, little detailed information is available on its specific history, former owners or past uses. The Sainte-Catherine wharf, where it is located, is a central place of the city, close to the Old Basin, historical and tourist heart of Honfleur.
