Origin and history
The church of Champagne-sur-Vingeanne is a religious building built in the 16th century, located in the municipality of the same name, in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. This monument, classified among the Historical Monuments, reflects the religious architecture of this period, marked by late Gothic influences and renaissance. Its listing in the inventory of Historic Monuments by order of 21 November 1925 bears witness to its heritage value and its local importance.
The church's location in the Côte-d'Or department is part of a historical context where parish churches played a central role in community life. In the 16th century, Burgundy was a dynamic region, marked by cultural and economic exchanges, as well as an intense religious life. Churches, such as Champagne-sur-Vingeanne, served not only as places of worship, but also as gathering points for the inhabitants, thus strengthening the social and spiritual ties of the community.
The accuracy of its location, noted as satisfactory, allows to identify its current location on Rue Haute, in the heart of the village.
