Origin and history

The church of Saint-Blaise de Frontignan-Savès is distinguished by its bell tower-wall, pierced by three arcades and reinforced by foothills. The latter is preceded by a more recent construction porch, while the gallery leading to the bell tower bears witness to a careful design and execution. The absence of written sources makes it difficult to date the building precisely, whose architecture combines elements from different periods.

By order of 26 March 1973, the church belongs to the commune of Frontignan-Savès, in the Haute-Garonne department (Occitanie region). Its listing in the inventory of protected monuments highlights its heritage interest, although its exact history remains partially unknown due to the lack of archival records. The location of the building at 10 Village is considered satisfactory (note 8/10).

The building, a communal property, could have played a central role in the religious and social life of the village, as was often the case for rural churches in Occitanie. These buildings served not only as a place of worship, but also as a gathering point for the community, reflecting the architectural traditions and spiritual needs of local people throughout the centuries.
