Origin and history

The church Saint-Martin d'Armentières-sur-Ourcq is a religious monument located in the municipality of the same name, in the department of Aisne. This place of worship, typical of French villages, bears the name of Saint-Martin, a saint especially venerated in the countryside since the Middle Ages. Parish churches such as Armentières-sur-Ourcq played a central role in the lives of rural communities.

They served not only as a place of prayer, but also as a gathering point for local festivals, weddings and burials. In the Hauts-de-France, a region marked by a strong agricultural tradition, these buildings often reflected the social and religious organization of the villages.
