Origin and history
The church of Saint-Saturnin of Chaduria, classified as Historical Monument, dates from the 12th century. It is distinguished by a nave with three spans, initially vaulted but today without its original cover. A central span, surmounted by a dome on pendants, precedes an apse richly decorated with a five-open arch, resting on half-columns. These architectural elements illustrate the Romanesque techniques of the region.
The facade of the church presents a door framed by two blind arcades, typical of the Poitevin Romanesque style. The building was included in the inventory of Historic Monuments by order of 17 June 1925. Property in the commune of Chaduria, in the Charente department (formerly Poitou-Charentes), its state of conservation and openness to the public are not specified in the available sources.
The geographical coordinates of the church, although located at 1 Rue des Tilleuls, benefit from an accuracy deemed "passible" (note 5/10). This approximate location reflects the limitations of historical and cartographic data for some rural buildings. No information is provided on any contemporary uses, such as visits, room rentals or accommodation.
