The facades on the courtyard and on the street and the corresponding roofs (Box K 281): inscription by decree of 8 September 1965
Origin and history
The building located in Bordeaux, on the course Georges-Clémenceau and rue Roland, dates from the 18th century. It is distinguished by its classic architecture, with a ground floor and a covered stone arched basement. This style reflects the influence of the urban models of the era, combining functionality and aesthetics for bourgeois buildings.
The first floor, dedicated to reception, alternate bays with triangular frontons and balconies on consoles, while the intermediate spans remain sober. The second floor features adorned support stones, and the modillon cornice highlights the elegance of the ensemble. The curved pediment windows, carefully decorated, complete this harmonious composition, typical of Bordeaux architecture of the Enlightenment century.
Ranked a Historic Monument in 1965 for its facades and roofs, the building illustrates Bordeaux's urban heritage. Its central location, near the Place des Quinconcées, and its state of conservation make it a privileged witness to the architectural history of the city. The accuracy of its geographical location is estimated to be poor (note 5/10), and now belongs to a private company.
The protected elements include the facades on the courtyard and the street, as well as the corresponding roofs (cadastre K 281). No information is available on its accessibility to the public, whether it be visits, room rental or accommodation. The sources mention only his registration as Historic Monuments and his photographic representation under Creative Commons license.
