Origin and history

This Bordeaux building, located in Tourny driveway, has a composite structure reflecting two distinct epochs. The lower part, including the architrave, dates back to the time of Tourny (18th century), while the second floor and attic were rebuilt in the early 19th century. This duality is manifested by contrasting architectural treatments: the bays on the first floor retain their sculpted keys and original ironwork, while the upper levels imitate a classical carved stone style.

An arcade bay, later added to the ground floor, reflects more recent changes. The building has been partially classified as Historic Monument since 1974, with limited protection to its façade and roof on street. The cadastre identifies the property under reference G 171. Although its exact location is approximate (accuracy note: 5/10), the sources confirm its main address at the 58 aisle of Tourny, in the historical area of Bordeaux.

Decorative elements, such as ironworks and sculptures from the bays, illustrate the local handicrafts of the 18th and 19th centuries. Partial reconstruction in the 19th century suggests an adaptation to the aesthetic norms of the period, while preserving the remains of the previous century. The absence of any mention of its current use (visit, accommodation) limits practical information, but its protected status underlines its heritage importance in the Bordeaux landscape.
