The building at 6 rue de Valois and 1 place de Valois, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, is an architectural testimony combining two distinct periods. The balcony decorated with ironwork and its consoles, overlooking the rue de Valois, date from the seventeenth century. These elements, characteristic of the period craftsmanship, have been preserved despite subsequent changes in the building.

The facades and roofs, visible from the street and the square, were reconstructed or thoroughly remodeled during the second half of the 18th century. This reshaping reflects the evolution of architectural tastes under the Old Regime, marking a contrast between the classic 17th century style and the lighter and adorned 18th century influences. These parties were protected by an enrollment order in 1946, recognizing their heritage value.

The official protection of the building was done in two stages: the balcony and its ironworks were registered in 1928, followed by facades and roofs in 1946.
